    The Writer's Lounge

If the Columns Forum is to be a community, we might as well have somewhere to hang out. That's what The Writer's Lounge is.

Think of this as a General Discussion thread, of sorts. If you have a comment about, say, there not being enough series columns in the CF, it goes here. If you have a comment about you being in a bit of a writing funk, and how you haven't been able to come up with any ideas recently, it goes here. If you have something to say to a particular column that has moved its way down the page, and you don't want to bother with commenting on something nobody has mentioned in over a week, it goes here.

Really, this thread is for anything. We want you guys to have fun. Again, we're trying to build a community here. LoP rules do apply, though. There is to be no flaming of other posters, etc. Because I know that various people like to playfully poke at one another, I'm not going to say that everyone has to be Disney friendly. If you want to "trash talk" (for example, if you're facing a particular person in a competition, and you want to talk about how you're going to win), you may do so, but if I, or any of the CF mods, feel you're starting to cross the line into flaming, we will say so.

    Have fun, ladies and gentlemen.

I think there is a serious lack of columns in the CF right now.

On the plus side, there is a seriously low percentage of rubbish columns in the CF now. It's all downhill from here.

It's as if you could sense that I am likely to post something today.

Is it worth reposting a couple of the columns out of my series so people can refresh their memory, or do people think I should just carry on from where I left off?

I suppose now is as good a time as any to post the entire series, although that would likely be in contravention of forum rules. Failing that, set up a blog and post the archive there.

Yeah, it may be a bit of a no-no doing it here but you should definitely put them all up somewhere. You can actually set up G-Docs for anyone to just view if you give them a link. It doesn't look as nice as a blog or whatever but will do the job.

Yeah, wasn't thinking of putting them all up here - that'd take up a lot of space, unless I did them in on thread. Kind of a one-man retro columns thread.

I was thinking of some combination of the setting the scene, year one review, and Sep '96 - just for the sake of tidiness, basically.

^^ I guess you could create the Retro Columns Thread and post it all there....if it hasn't already been created.

I'd put the year one review up as a standalone, wait three days, repost Sept '96, and then carry on.
