It also doesn't help that CM Punk is incapable of being a heel. He's never been a heel. He's been a guy who said sarcastic, arrogant things, cheated, and lied... but he's never been a heel. He has, since I even knew of his existence, always been above and beyond heel and face crap. You can't hate the guy when the shit he says is either true or hilarious, his "mean" things are always dripping so much with sarcasm that I wipe my hands on his words to use as lubrication at night. He'd have to be someone other than CM Punk to be booed.

Closest thing to Punk being in true heel form was back during the Straight Edge Society run (that really was cut WAY too short..so much potential). Antagonizing audiences across the nation on two of America's biggest vices: drugs and alcohol (although he still managed to get cheered at points). The cult theme was the icing on the cake. At this point, Punk can be heelish, just not full fledge (has been in tweener status to me for the past year).
Edit: Also, in regards to the whole Lawler 'mocking promo' last night..Again, nobody should be shocked. Lawler's mom's death mocked by Michael Cole himself, was more disrespectful if anything and the 'E hasn't let up in years with the low road. Why stop now? I didn't expect WWE to.

Ugh, I forgot how they talked about Lawler's mom...
Regardless of how frequently the WWE does it, these kinds of angles always leave a bad taste in my mouth. I don't enjoy them, I don't like to watch them, and they certainly don't make me want to shell out money so I can feel uncomfortable some more watching the payoff of the angle. Between the Punk/Heyman segments and the absolutely interminable AJ/Vickie/Cena/Dolph segment, this was one of the least enjoyable episodes for me in a while.
