    MLB Hot Stove 2013 Discussion

Giants won the World Series and it officially starts once again.

Didn't see a Hot Stove thread and decided to make one,

Jason Bay no longer a Met as off this day. Good start to the offseason for the Mets

Atlanta is talking Denard Span (realistic shot) and Josh Willingham (a long shot), moving Martin Prado to thirdbase. Michael Bourn coming back is unlikely, which sucks. It would be nice to have Dan Uggla actually earn a small portion of the mammoth contract Atlanta is giving him.

I like that idea as opposed to the rumors of Justin Upton (who would cost a lot).

Walt Weiss hired as the Rockies manager. It's cool how guys I remember playing when I was a kid are filling all the manager positions now.

Orioles offense would look scary with Hamilton, but they should go after Greinke. It makes too much sense for them to do it. They need pitching. They cant rely on Joe fucking Saunders to win them games.

The Mets are actively seeking a trade to rid themselves of R.A. Dickey according to Ken Rosenthal. They are very far apart in contract talks.

Anybody here remember Yankees prospect Brien Taylor?

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ex-yank...8113--mlb.html

He just got sentenced to some prison time. He never reached the majors, but he was the No. 1 overall pick in 1991 and destined for stardom. I remember him mostly from his baseball cards, which were VERY hot commodities for a brief time. I remember the Triple-A team in Rochetser handing out Upper Deck prospect cards (Brien Taylor and Boston's Frank Rodriguez) to the first 5,000 people or whatever and since we had all these redemption tickets, we ended up going in and out of the stadium like five times.

They were worth like $50 apiece and then Brien Taylor ended up injuring his shoulder in a bar fight and was never the same.

I would prefer if they traded Dickey, he's value is improbably high and the Mets wont contend next season. I would perfer getting a Catching Prospect and a cheap outfielder
