You must pick one (entertainment edition)

Seeing as I basically have no life until my latest job search is complete, I figured I'd try out something I've been wanting to do for awhile. Same as the one I started in the WWE forum, except strictly entertainment based. You can do tv shows, movies, video games, porn, books, music, and porn.

Episode-to-episode, which show was/has been the most consistent in quality: Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad?
I think it's awesome that the word lisp has an "s" in it.

I would say Game of Thrones. I enjoyed every Season.

Breaking Bad on the other hand, was great too. But in my opinion, it only started becoming great from Season 3.

Next- Once Upon A Time or Arrow? Which is a better show?

I would say Arrow personally. I think Once lost a bit of its appeal after the first season. Whereas Arrow continues to try and one up itself.

Next- Better Movie Series. Lord of the Rings or Godfather?

I would say Lord of the Rings. I can't remember much of The Godfather.

Next- Which is the best Marvel movie of 2014?

The Amazing Spiderman 2 vs X Men vs Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy?

Easy, Guardians of the Galaxy. TAS2, was not a good movie, XMen DOFP was excellent, but Guardians was awesome.

Which sequel was better for its franchise? Not which was a better movie, nor which was a better sequel, but which one had a better impact on its franchise?

    Godfather 2
    Jaws 2
    Rocky 2
    Empire Strikes Back
    Temple of Doom
    Back to the Future 2
    X-Men 2
Fast and the Furious (movie 4)

I would say Fast and Furious 4. I think it was during the 4th movie that the producers think Fast and Furious could continue for years.

I've never watched Empire Strikes Back or Temple of Doom. So I can't comment on them. But as for the others, only the second movies of X Men and Rocky had some kind of impact. But not as significant as Fast and Furious 4, in my opinion.

Next- Richard Gere and Julia Roberts (Pretty Woman) vs Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet (Titanic)
Which of the two pairs is a more memorable on-screen couple?

Leo and Kate were memorable enough to keep Titanic the highest grossing movie ever for going on two decades now. So them.

Which movie will be more affected by Age of Ultron: Civil War or Ragnorok?

Gere and Roberts. Titanic was not the highest grossing film because of Leo and Kate.

Green Lantern. At least Daredevil made an honest attempt with the Director's cut.

Which movie had the biggest uphill battle regarding expectations: Dark Knight Rises or Avengers 2?

    The Dark Knight Rises.

Both movies had a lot to live up to. Due to the enormous success of their predecessors. But The Dark Knight not only had to generate box office success. It also had to do well in the acting department. Due to Heath Ledger's fantastic portrayal of The Joker.

    Next up- Dexter vs Revenge
Both dramas started off great but had their fall from grace. But which drama is less disappointing in their respective last season?

Been enjoying the music one so try and get this up and running. But we will refine it to just TV and movies as that's the forum title now.

I can't answer the above as I've watched neither. Instinctively I would Dexter because the bits of Revenge I have seen looking fucked atrocious, whereas Dexter only look routinely bad.

Anyway.... to a new choice, see if this picks back up.

    Die Hard Franchise

    or

    Aliens Franchise?

Oooh, that's a tricky one. The original Die Hard is clearly the best of either franchise, but the sequels are generally more generic and less impressive. Aliens has more longevity with two highly regarded films kicking it off, and (in my opinion) a flawed but generally underrated 4th film. Of course you also have to identify if the Prometheus stuff counts as part of Alien, because those films are pretty annoying in my view. And that doesn't even touch the sticky situation of AVP. If I had to say which franchise has more really good films, it'd be Alien, but if you ask me which one I would watch from start to finish, it would be Die Hard. I think I'll go for the latter.

Let's get a current take on things:

    Wonder Woman

    OR

    Spider-Man: Homecoming?

I liked both of those to be honest. I think overall I just about preferred Wonder Woman, though.

You can only have one Batman from now to the end of time, and you must choose (no neither allowed)

    George Clooney

    or

    Ben Affleck?!

See, I feel like both guys could be a fine Batman in the right circumstances. If Clooney wasn't just fucking around and wearing bat nipples, and if Affleck wasn't attached to a disappointing (to some) and flopping universe... I suppose I'd go with Affleck as his actual track record is certainly better with Bats.

I'll follow along the same line... pick your Spiderman!

    Tobey Maguire

    OR

    Andrew Garfield

    OR

    Tom Holland?

I think I like Toby Maguire best. Though I do like the new kid.

    Pick your Hulk!

    Eric Bana

    Or

    Ed Norton

    Or

    Mark Ruffalo?

I mean, it's got to be Ruffalo, right? The standalone Hulk films were riddled with issues but he's been a good supporting character in the extended MCU, and part of that is Ruffalo doing a great job with the part. I almost want him to get his own film but history warns us that might be a cursed venture.

Let's try this one... what's the better action film?

    Die Hard

    OR

    Terminator 2

I quite like the second Hulk movie so it wouldn't be as straightforward for me, but Ruffalo isn't a choice I would argue with.

I am not convinced Die Hard is anywhere near as good as people claim. Love the first two Terminator movies. So for me this is simple, though I fully expect to be called a blasphemer.

    Fargo (movie)

    Or

    The Big Lebowski?

I love responding to this thread but I hate coming up with new topics...

I'm a crazy Coen Bros fan though so I'll take this one. Both are classics in my eyes but I'll narrowly go with Fargo. I think it's a more nuanced and interesting movie when you really dig down. It's a close thing though. I'd take Barton Fink over either though, so what do I know?

On that note, let's try this one...

    Coen Brothers

    OR

    Quentin Tarantino?

I'm a Tarantino guy all the way. I like the Coen Brothers' stuff, also, but it sometimes gets a bit too heady for my tastes. While I like most of their movies, I like literally every Tarantino flick.

I've got one. For the old school indy film fans out there, the respective 3rd films of two filmmakers who pioneered the movement in the early 90s.

    Jackie Brown

    Chasing Amy?

Well, I have to admit to not having seen Chasing Amy. Weirdly, because I've seen most of the Kevin Smith View Askewniverse stuff. But that one passed me by. So I guess I have to say Jackie Brown, by default. I liked that movie.

Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)

    or

    Ghostbusters (1984)?

Got to go with Raiders. I enjoy Ghostbusters but for me its not the classic that Raiders is.

Big fan of the show, and it's Spike for me by a huge distance.

My Johnny Depp Fandom guarantees that I go with Donnie Brasco here.

The Hobbit. 3 long movies was not needed for that little book.

Wrong forum for sports questions. But feel free to start an equivalent in the right place.

To get back on track. Brooklyn 99 or Parks and Recreation.

Since I have never watched Brooklyn 99, I will pick Parks and Rec by default. That being sad I think P & R is an amazing and sometimes underrated sitcom classic.

    Better Horror Show:

American Horror Story or Harper's Island or Scream (I'm fans of all them but I know they are divisive so feel free to answer Worst Horror Show if you hate them all)

Golden Globes, the celbs have much more fun. The Oscars is very stuffy. A more prestigious award, but it doesn't have to be so formal.

Can I not pick Batman Begins?! The Dark Knight (2008).

    Let's flip it.

Batman (1989) or Man of Steel (2013)?

As I never saw Heroes, gotta go with Prison Break.

    More overrated show:

    Or
