in Miller's Dark Knight Strikes Again, it was Dick Grayson who become the Joker. AND if continuing with the theme, Dark knight Rises was clearly inspired by that book, so if BvS is set in the same universe (with the Batsuit Armor, and the "older' Batman coming back) then it would make sense for the Joker to be Grayson.

    Spectre was pretty boss.

    Ranking of Craig 007 films:

    1 - Skyfall
    2 - Spectre
    3 - Casino Royale
    4 - Quantum of Solace

Creed kicked all kinds of ass. Absolutely loved the ending, especially if this is gonna be a franchise.

Idris Elba is the frontrunner for the lead role in the Dark Tower movies. Prepare for racism masked as concern for artistic accuracy.

Oh come on. A small percentage of the people are being racist, most of us though know that characters like Nick Fury are a short white dude with a full head of hair in the comics lol. It's jarring to see these characters be portrayed by actors, or actresses who are a completely different build and nationality. Nothing racist about it. Are comic book fans being racist when they go up in arms over Incredible Hulk no longer being Bruce Banner, but rather some small asian kid; or sexist at being miffed by Thor being a lady now? No. They are validated in their confusion and frustration. Why not make a new character entirely, or pick a comic book/novel hero of the same nationality and build if they want to display a black person, or asian person, or whatever race/gender/build? It doesn't matter what nationality, race, gender, e.t.c. the original character is, it is unnecessary PC garbage- plain and simple.

Edit- also, not sure where you are getting your info from, but I'm pretty sure Russell Crowe is set in stone for that role.

The Idris Elba news is everywhere. Just google his name. http://deadline.com/2015/12/idris-el...ey-1201663530/

If the race of s character is meaningless to the plot I really don't care who plays the role. Get a good actor, and Elba is just that.

Yea just looked it up. He is rumored, but for what it's worth, every time they looked to push this series through before this, the constant was Russell Crowe playing the lead.

I like Idris, I think he should be lead in some movies and he would have made an awesome Bond imo, I just believe if a writer specifically wrote a character to be a specific nationality/build/gender, why change it? Having said that, I loved Jamie Foxx as Django, but I also hated Ian McKellen playing the leads short, fat, bald sidekick (Sir Leigh Teabing) in Da Vinci Code. It is harder for someone who doesn't fit the initial character description to gain the audiences sympathy, so why try to rock the boat unnecessarily?

I can agree on if the race/gender e.t.c doesnt necessarily play into the plot that it can be done, but it is like swimming against the current. Jamie Foxx is a rare exception (and for what its worth, the original is as good as Jamie, the character just fits both very well as Tarantino brilliantly connected).

David Bowie and Alan Rickman in the same week? That's some bullshit.

If you've never seen Galaxy Quest, do yourself a favor and watch it. Great role for Rickman, but he will always be Hans Gruber to me (and Snape).

And both to cancer. One of my all-time favorite actors, and one of my all-time favorite musicians. It's been a shitty week.

Rickman was also awesome in Dogma as Metatron. As for Bowie- pretty much p8ck an album, especially his earlier stuff, and you will strike gold. The man was easily one of the most influential musicians of all-time. His creativity has always inspired me.

Episode 7 blu ray drops in a month. Quite surprising given it was still playing when I saw Deadpool.

Looks like Peter Pan is the next Disney property in line for a live action remake. Wake me up when they get around to The Lion King.

Why? Another version of peter pan was just released within 6 months. This will be the 4? version in the last 15 years.

It wasn't a Disney version though and many people think that contributed to why it failed.

The new Jungle Book is based off the cartoon Jungle Book, not the novel. Disney will do the same thing with Peter Pan, remake their animated Peter Pan film and not stick to the novel.

Any chance of them casting a female lead?

Also, Hook is one of my favorite childhood movies.

Disney (all branches included) is to entertainment what Wal-Mart is to retail shopping in the south. Between Episodes 8 &9, the next 4 years of Marvel, and Toy Story 4, I couldn't have imagined another announcement on such a level....... then I read about the live action remake of The Lion King. After the success of Jungle Book I was hoping it would be forthcoming. Now I'm just hoping for Aladdin to happen once Beauty/Beast, Lion King and Mulan are handled.

Live-action Lion King sounds weird to me. So instead of traditional Disney animation with a voice cast, it will just be CGI with a voice cast? Jungle Book at least had a human character to interact with the animals.

Rogue One was amazing. it is clearly the second best Star Wars movie, behind Empire. No spoilers here. but it goes without saying that it is a must see!!!

PM me if you want, but do the twists have lasting implications on how we view the core movies?

Not really twists but a plothole from a future movie is addressed. It was a good movie, but needed more Mads.

I haven't seen it yet. BUT, what I do know is that some people came away wanting a Darth Vader movie. This is something I can get behind. A full on Darth Vader movie of him in his prime slicing the surviving Jedi!

Hell yes. I'd love to see it pick up from the closing moments of Sith, with Anakin coming to grips with his new identity, the loss of Padme and learning to cow before the Emperor.

This might be the greatest movie to be made. And if you get Vader in his prime cutting up Jedi, then could have an amazing story of lose and losing your self.

This is the movie that everyone wanted from the prequels. Namely Episode 2 and/or 3. Not sure how old anyone is, but back in mid 90s after the Re-releases and when we got word about the prequels, we all speculated that at least one of the movies was going to be about Anakin becoming Vader and going out rampaging through the galaxy killing off the Jedi as OB-1 implied in Star Wars. But no, what we got was complete shit and whiny, bitchy Anakin, who was not a badass. The best part of the Prequels with Anakin/Vader was after OB-1 left him for dead and he was fitted with the suit and rose up and took his place by the Emperor's side overseeing the construction of the Death Star. Everything else sucked as hard as anything could suck.

A potential John Goodman vs. Kong matchup? Sign me up.

Manchester by the Sea is the most beautiful movie about nothing I've ever seen. Casey Affleck is amazing, and by the end you're left wanting nothing more than just a hint of happiness for him.

I remember that. I heard that part 2 was suppose to be him turning at the end and then part 3 was him in his prime, pre-suits but post turn to the darkside. But I think they saw how much they could make off Clone Wars and having Anakin in cartoons. They could make up for it with that Vader story. You don't really need anyone from part 3, because everyone is either in hiding or dead, except the Emperor. Even then you could have just the opening scene and the rest of the movie is Vader.

I enjoyed watching the train wreck of the last 10 minutes of the Oscars. It was pretty fitting as I believe we have entered a golden age of television (which no one brings up for declining WWE viewership). Between shows airing on premium channels, basic cable channels, and streaming services, the vast majority of Hollywood productions simply can't compete.

Logan was awesome. If you haven't seen it, it is a must see. As much as it is a comic book movie, it isn't at the same time. It is a good movie, plain and simple.

    Also Kong! On Saturday.

Beauty and the Beast was exceptional. It was the Animated movie plus a little more. It was a perfect transition to live action. Everyone else needs to take note about how they remade a movie.

Taking my daughter next weekend to see Power Rangers. She had a choice between it and Beauty/Beast, and it took her all of .359 seconds to decide.

Is there any sex in Logan? Thinking about forfeiting my father of the year award to make the day a double feature, but only if the R rating is just for language and violence.

No sex in Logan. Nothing inappropriate beside lots of gore and violence. It is some pretty hefty violence, but not sex or nudity.

I'm a disappointed Panda to find out The Little Mermaid will be based around the fairy tale and not the animated movie. Was incredibly eager to see a live-action Ursula along with the scene where King Triton wrecks shit.

Aladdin's Cave of Wonders damn sure better remain intact.

There is two Little Mermaid movies being made. Disney's will be like the cartoon, the other one is following the fairy tale. The one coming out this year is the non-Disney one. They have not started filming the Disney one yet.

What do they think The Little Mermaid is, Peter Pan?

I knew it was mighty odd that a trailer was out when I was 99.837% sure Mermaid is behind both Lion King and Aladdin in production.

Yeah there's also a new Jungle Book movie coming out next year that follows the book (not the Disney version). It's Andy Serkis' directing debut. They were both filming at the same time but there's been many delays.
