OK that's unlocked it for me. 7) is History by MJ, it's the detailing on the statue.
If 2) isn't that Elvis cover that's just his name in black and white I'm not going to get it. But I don't actually know what it's called unless it's just Elvis, either.
Probably out at that point unless I start cheating.

It is Elvis, but not the "Elvis" album. Not going to give that one to you. Technically you've already won though, but let's see if anybody else can jump in with the rest
So... who do we have left? Elvis, obviously. Madonna will have to be in there. If I remember right Steve said something about Garth Brooks selling a lot of records, and I remember something about the Eagles selling a fuckload of records over there too. But then it could be more modern, like a Rihanna or Eminem or Taylor Swift or someone.
Either way, I reckon it'll be some combination of those acts.
OK, here we go with my fifth one of these. There's no theme, so I wouldn't worry about looking for one.
1. Def Leppard, Hysteria (TripleR)
2. Meat Loaf, Bat out of Hell II: Back into Hell (Gooner)
3. Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Freaky Styley, (Wilkimania)
4.
5.
6. Papa Roach, Infest (Wilkimania)
7. Genesis, Nursery Cryme (Gooner)
8. Taylor Swift, 1989 (Gooner)
9.Santana, Supernatural (TripleR)
2) Had a similar album already but I guess you'd do (almost) anything to go back there.
3) An early album from a band you'll all know. I could give you the line up but even though the guitar player and drummer are still different from the more famous times, I just don't want to give it away.
4) Slight trick as this is actually the back of an album cover - zoom out and you'll see the grinning face of the father of the baby, who is one of the most famous songwriters in the history of the world.
5) Very modern. Very poppy.
6) You've got to go back almost twenty years for this one, which is a metal album. At least one single from this album was very popular around the turn of the millennium.
7) This is another older one - the title is a pun and the band went through a couple of different iterations. This is from the first, more challenging version.
8) Maybe it's appropriate that all that is there for this one so far is a blank space....

2) Struggling to get this one, huh? Keep trying. Remember, rock and roll dreams come through.
3) This is a pretty fiery band. It's hard to give a clue for the album title, though it does describe their early sound pretty well. Everyone will know this band though. If you've never thought about their early work for one hot minute then maybe time to check out the otherside. Although perhaps it's an unfair thing to include because if you have to ask, you'll never know.
4) Maybe I'm amazed that no one has this one already.
5) As I say, very modern and very poppy, so I figure this probably is quite tough. If someone gets it, I think I'll have to give you a salute.
6) This album contained a couple of big singles, one of which was inspired heavily by Fight Club and was used as the theme to a huge WWF PPV.
7) So this is a progressive rock album by a group of English public schoolboys. They later saw some line-up changes including the guy who used to sit at the back becoming the focal point and became a pop band that I found massively tedious. As for the album title... did Humpty Dumpty fall off the wall, or was he pushed?
8) The artist sounds a bit like someone who could make clothes really quickly. I already gave you a pretty huge clue for this in the first one, even if it was missed, but another single off this album shares its name with a couple of RAW brand pay per views from around fifteen years ago.
Some of those are more cryptic than others. Honestly I don't think I'm very good at clues that don't completely give it away.
Last set of more blatant clues to see if we can unlock this.
3) This 1985 album has a title that became, at the time, a way of saying something is cool in sort of a funky way.
4) this album was released a week after the break up of the biggest band on the planet, and it's not a coincidence.
5) this one is hard. If you get it, I guess it could be black magic. Or maybe it's in your DNA?
6) giving clues this easy is definitely a last resort.
8) this record went multiplatinum in a bunch of countries and reportedly sold more than ten million copies, but don't worry about not getting it yet. Plenty of time to shake it off.
This will be the last set of clues. I'll give answers if no one gets anywhere with them. As I understand it, if no one scores another point, then Rob wins.
Definitely on the right lines there. I actually put that and Swift in to see if going more poppy and more recent would get a few different faces in, but it didn't seem to work. Classirc rock all the way from now on!
OK, it's been over two weeks and more than three days since the final set of clues so I'm calling this one. The two remaining answers were McCartney, by Paul McCartney, and Get Weird by Little Mix.
1. The Eminem Show - Eminem - Wilkimania
2. Off the Wall - Michael Jackson - Prime Time
3. X & Y - Coldplay - Wilkimania

8. No Angel - Dido - Wilkimania
9. Slippery When Wet - Bon Jovi - Prime Time
I don't have a clue why it's displaying so small, its a 900x900 image so should be as big as my other ones... EDIT: seems to not like png...
