I'm not sure that this is right, but 2) U2, War?

I'm staring at a few, sure they are familiar, and thinking that they could fall quickly into place with clues.

    Not correct I'm afraid.

I'll wait a few more hours, then provide a clue or two

    Apologies for the double post!

    Ok clues:

    1. Think Motown
    2. Artist was featured in a previous round
    4. No clue yet, I think this is the most obvious one.
    6. Artist has ptosis (drooping of one eyelid)
    8. Has provided a few WWE PPV theme songs in the past
    9. Artist name shares the name of a famous character from child literature.

I recognise 6) now with the clue, Rise by Gabrielle.

The WWE PPV one... It'll be someone like Imagine Dragons or Shinedown, maybe?

Unfortunately that's where mine will end for eight. I know they've done themes a few times. Don't know the albums for either of them.

I know I know 4. It's killing me at the moment.

    Okie dokie

    1. Has a massive hit that is usually played on joyous occasions.
    2. Ginger haired, I'll say no more.
    4. Artist is now dead.
    8. Provided theme song for Wrestlemania 22, included in this album
    9. Irish band, locally known as a "better U2". Not well known internationally, but have toured around Europe.

These are all guesses or just comments.

    1) just from the clue I will guess celebrate, Kool and the Gang
I reckon 2) is Elton John but I don't know the albums well enough to have a clue.
    8) is shinedown but I'd have to cheat to even know an album title.
Based on the clue for 9 I wonder why I thought I recognised it!

You got 1 right, Kool and the Gang - Celebrate.

2 is Elton John, need the album to finish off.

8 is Shinedown, again just waiting on the album

I'm afraid I'm going to have to tap out. Could cheat to get the ones I've opened up, but would have to cheat. Hopefully they are a way in for someone else.

I shall wait a few more hours, but may reveal all if I don't get further answers, if anything just to get the ball rolling again.

8 is Us and Them by Shinedown

9 is Aslan, but I have no clue as to the album name. I only got that from the clue and the fact that I've heard of them while looking into Irish bands previously.

    *EDIT*

I just noticed that 4 is still outstanding. I dismissed it as it was so obvious to me that I assumed someone must've gotten it right off the bat. I should've known that wasn't the case, as Thriller was a huge stumper.

#4 is Invincible by Michael Jackson

I'd have never gotten Aslan without the clue about the children's book character. Shinedown was one of my mom's favorite bands there for a bit (I like a few of their songs, too). And I just love MJ.

8 and 4 is correct. 9 is indeed Aslan, and I fear no one else will be able to get the album title as admittedly that was my one naughty one whereby they are not very well known. I shall wait a little longer before declaring the answer though as we still have the 2nd to guess. Prime is correct in that it is an Elton John album, any chancers for the album?

    1. Kool and the Gang - celebrate (Prime Time)
    2. Elton John - ??? (Artist: Prime Time. Album: ???)
    3. The Prodigy - Fat of the Land (zzzorf)
    4. Michael Jackson - Invincible (Steve)
    5. Avril Lavigne - Let Go (zzzorf)
    6. Gabrielle - Rise (Prime Time)
    7. Fleetwood Mac - Rumours (Prime Time)
    8. Shindown - Us and Them (Artist: Prime Time. Album: Steve)
    9. Aslan - ??? (Artist: Steve. Album: ???)

    3 is Issues by Korn

That's the only one that immediately jumps out at me, though a few others do ring a bell. I'll need to think on it a bit more.

    *EDIT*

I take that back. 9 is Portrait of an American Family by Marilyn Manson.

    1 is Parklife - Blur

I'm positive I know the artist of 5, but no idea of the album. Don't really know why I'm so sure of the artist either, but will refrain from saying it in case someone else wants a crack at it.

To be fair we don't do half points, so you'd only be helping them out anyway. And you're right about #1. That means we have a tie for the lead.

5 is Tuesday Night Music Club by Sheryl Crow
7 is Sign O' The Times by Prince

I know I recognize #2 from somewhere, but can't put it together in my head to save my life.

Both right. 2) is pretty tough. If I had to guess I would say 4) is the easiest of the ones that are left.

I knew that I used to have it, as the image was so damn familiar. Also figured it was from the 90s due to the denim. I kinda went backwards from those two points with simple process of elimination. It was kind of a bitch remembering the title of the album, though. I admit to having to resort to checking my music library to get the Tuesday part, as I for some reason thought it was Sunday.

    Clue time.

    2) you might send your daughter to the band, only to find you can't hear yourself think.

    4) Elvis might have appreciated this one.

    8) Given one of this British band's most famous singles, the title of this album is suitably regal.

I now know where I've seen #2. it's Girlschool. They were in the Lemmy documentary, as they toured and collaborated with Motorhead quite a bit back in the day. I haven't the faintest clue about the album title, but perhaps the band name will help someone else get it.

Yeah, that's right. Gooner can take the round with both of the remaining answers. Otherwise it'll be Steve.

Steve is right for the band on 2). This is the tough one. If it's too tough you could get your own back on me by doing the album title.

I'm a little surprised that 4) is one of the last ones up there. It went multi-platinum in three different countries and is probably the most successful and famous album up there in international terms. As to the previous clue, Elvis might have approved, if it weren't released almost nine years to the day after the King had died.

I won't get 2 as I've never heard of the band. 4 is intriguing, but nothing is springing to mind.

Is 4 Graceland by Paul Simon? I've never been a big fan, but that seems to time out about right to the clue given about The King's death, if memory serves, and of course has the obvious link to him within the title.

Even if the title to #2 were made blatant within the clues thus far, I don't think I'd get it. I guess I could just watch Lemmy again and hope to get a glimpse of it but that seems just as cheater-y as outright Googling it.

It is. Which means you win this one and can go as and when you are ready.

I don't think anyone is going to get it at this stage, so the Girlschool album was called Screaming Blue Murder.
