Monday Night RAW: August 22nd, 2016

The Monday Night RAW Episode for the 22nd of August, 2016: Bloody Sunday, Bad Case Of The Mondays

    - Happy Birthday Today to both Jimmy & Jey Uso, who both turn 31.
    - Happy Early Birthday to Vince McMahon, who turns 71 on Wednesday.
    - Happy Early Birthday to Apollo Crews, who turns 29 on Thursday.
    - Happy Very Early Birthday to The Great Khali, who turns 44 on Saturday.

--- Burning Up The Squared Circle ---

Last night was Summerslam. Due to reasons that should seem obvious, but maybe, maybe not, I shall only care about the matches pertaining to RAW wrestlers.
To the person who does Smackdown, you can post results too, but from this point onward, unless RAW wrestlers are involved, that's all.

I also intend to keep things fair if any cross-brand matches occur.

Here's what happened in case you missed it:

    - In one of the pre-show matches, the team of Neville & Sami Zayn defeated the Dudley Boyz.
    - In another one of the pre-show matches, Sheamus defeated Cesaro in a Best of 7 Series to go up 1-0.
    - Charlotte defeated Sasha Banks, and thus Charlotte is the new WWE Women's Champion.
    - Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson defeated The New Day via Disqualification, thus the WWE Tag Team Titles do not change, and New Day retain.
    - The greatest and significantly better new tag team of Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho defeated the pathetic, overly hyped up non-RAW tag team that no one should even care about, Big Cass & Enzo Amore AKA some idiots off the streets of New Jersey.
    - A scheduled match between Rusev & Roman Reigns for the WWE United States Championship did not happen as both men attacked each other with a steel chair and steel steps before the match officially began. Rusev was deemed unable to compete once things had settled down. No Contest.
    - Finn Balor defeated Seth Rollins to become the inaugural WWE Universal Champion.
    - Brock Lesnar completely annihilated Randy Orton and although Orton stood zero chance at all of winning anyways, the match was declared a victory for Lesnar by both TKO and referee stoppage. Orton bled like a slaughter pig for sacrifice, and our god of destruction Lesnar proved once again how RAW is significantly better than Smackdown in all possible and potential ways.

I will not be posting Night Of Champions 2011 due to, you guessed it, a recent strain of virus called WWE Lawyers. I mean, who else wouldn't embrace Mark Henry entering Randy Orton into the Hall of Pain?!

    --- Questions To Ponder ---

    - Rumors are circulating that Sasha Banks dropped the Women's Title because of a injury that needs healing, and that she got married recently, so a honeymoon is all but possible. So with Sasha taking some time off, who could be #1 Contender for the Women's Championship?
    - Finn Balor is also rumored to have been injured in his match with Seth Rollins, jeopardizing the newly crowned Universal Champion. Regardless of all this, how likely will Seth Rollins be the man to challenge in Balor's first potential title defense?
    - The New Day are still champions, but be damned that The Club wont demand a rematch. How likely will Anderson & Gallows ask for a rematch tonight?
    - Likewise, Rusev & Roman Reigns never happened for the U.S. Title, so like for the Tag Titles, how likely will Reigns ask for the match tonight with the title on the line?

--- Enjoy the better show, everyone. ---

What is with WWE booking back-to-back-to-back-back heel wins? It deflated the Mania crowd but they made it back, it happened tonight and NY never recovered.

So it is with a heavy heart that some of the most well known places I've used for getting gifs, pictures or various wrestling related things has been shut down by WWE's lawyers and the Mean Street Posse. With that in mind...

Bullet Club - We're Taking Over

IWGP G-1 Tournament Winner - Bullet Club (First Gaijin ever to win and second gaijin ever to make the finals)
ROH World Champion - Bullet Club
IWGP Jr. Tag Champions - Bullet Club
WWE Universal champion - Bullet Club
    #BeatUpJohnCena - Bullet Club
WWE World Tag Champions - New Day ... Wait Fuck Ok so Anderson and Gallows were the only member of the Bullet Club to lose their matches this weekend.

Lets see if AJ can win the World Title and Anderson and Gallows can put away the New Day for them tag titles.

If Balor isn't hurt (or even if he is), I'm thinking we get a rematch with Rollins tonight. They need something big to happen.

It depends how hurt he is. That Universal title is brutal. There should be a crowning segment tonight and there is no reason to rush Finn out there. Perhaps Finn has some friends who could have his back while he is injured?

A big tag team title change to close Raw would be nice.

How great would it be if it were a shoot and they signed a one-year deal that legitimately ended last night. The whole breakup/heel turn tease was just a tease never meant to amount to anything.

Twitter rumors (...) say Balor may have a torn labrum.

Roman Reigns, come claim what's rightfully yours!

WWE now confirming an injury, though not saying torn labrum.

Sigh.....just when I thought we were gonna see a champ that wasn't Cena or a Shield member this happens.

Tournament that last until Clash of (not the) Champions please.

...and if the dudleys (or at least one of them) retire tonight somebody gotta go thru a table!

Matter of fact, a situation where it looks like both are retiring....then Bubba puts an actually retiring D-Von thru a table kicking off a Bubba solo run would be awesome.

Has 1 person of a team faked retirement before?!? I feel like that would be new.

Fucking God Damn, you cant give Finn a few weeks to see what happens before you rip the title away from a motherfucker? It must be a tear requires surgery but the fact is you could get the face some sympathy if you drew this out 2 weeks. Fuck. Unhappy Sarah.

Did anyone see at what point the injury occurred?

    EDIT: Nevermind. There's my answer.

"You deserve it" isn't necessarily the most appropriate chant right now.

Uh....yes. I'm for this. If the idea was Finn appeals to the hardcore fan during football season, Sami can fill that role!

Make this BattleBowl 2016 - everyone who won last night gets a shot at the title.

I'm busy tonight and won't be catching Raw for a few days, but I'm so deflated for Finn right now.

    That shit completely sucks.

    OK. This is getting rediculous

Place your bets, who do they pivot to now? Do they try to reboot the "new era" with another first time champ or do they get gun shy and put the strap on the known commodity (Rollins).

I say pivot toward Jericho and give him a transitional run.

WWE is evil for playing with our emotions like this. It's definitely a work, he doesn't dive out like that if it was real. WWE is just mean.

Coach, if it was a work wouldn't he be selling his left ankle?

For a guy who's been gone most of the year Seth sure has gotten a lot of title matches.

Rollins has sold the right a few times just to mess with the hardcore fans. Sami would be able to do the same if he wanted.

Rollins is one executive marriage away from the transformation being complete. How old is Trips' and Stern's oldest?

If KO wins I want a Jericho V Neville feud, their match of Beast Of The East was good.
